Helen McAdam

Registered nurse and midwife

Helen McAdam is a registered nurse and midwife with 25 years’ clinical experience in accident and emergency nursing and maternity care within hospital settings. She has also worked for the NEAS for five years as a subject-matter expert and clinical educator. She is currently a Senior Lecturer on the Paramedic and Out of Hospital Care BSc (Hons) at University of Sunderland. Her specialist interests are in women’s health and newborn care, and she has authored publications related to reducing the prevalence of hypothermia in the newborn. She is co-inventor and co-owner of a medical device company producing a new wearable thermometer for the newborn.
