Carl Webster

Principal Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University (NTU)

With over a decade of experience in higher education, including a PhD in pharmacology and research into drug delivery systems, Carl has established a distinguished career. Beginning as a lecturer in pharmacology, Carl later qualified as a paramedic, and has since led pharmacology modules and paramedic courses at multiple universities. As a Principal Lecturer at Nottingham Trent University (NTU), Carl leads the Paramedic team, providing strategic vision and management for various academic programmes. These responsibilities include the development and leadership of courses such as the CertHE Ambulance Technician Practice, MSc Paramedic Science, BSc Paramedic Science, and the Apprenticeship BSc Paramedic Science. Carl's academic and research work focuses on enhancing paramedic practice by integrating research, clinical practice, and education. In addition to academic responsibilities, Carl serves on the editorial board of the Journal of Paramedic Practice and is a Geographical Education Lead for the College of Paramedics, participating in the Paramedic Education Network. As an Executive Member of the European Prehospital Research Network, Carl continues to contribute to the shaping of paramedic education at both national and international levels.
