Paramedic and Senior Lecturer
Steve Poulton, now Yorkshire Ambulance Service's Advanced Paramedic Clinical Lead for North Yorkshire, made a career change in 2015 to become a paramedic after a successful career in television and film. Having graduated from Sheffield Hallam University, Steve has been dedicated to education throughout his career, whether teaching patients about managing long-term conditions, guiding student paramedics on placements, or mentoring colleagues within the service. Previously a Senior Lecturer at York St John University, he taught across the MSc pre-registration and BSc Paramedic programmes, focusing on shaping the next generation of paramedics. With his recent return to full-time practice, Steve continues to support education and development, staying active within the field and the College of Paramedics. Whether in the lecture hall, on an ambulance, hosting webinars, or teaching scuba diving lakeside, he remains committed to sharing his expertise.
