Matt Waters

Lecturer in Paramedic Science

Matt began his career as a research chemist, publishing over a dozen publications in the field of novel fluorine and phosphorus compounds. In 2004 he joined West Country Ambulance Service (now SWASFT) and progressed to the role of Paramedic where he was involved in the delivery of emergency, unscheduled and pre-hospital care in the Devon area. In 2014 Matt joined the Hazard Area Response Team (HART) before progressing onto a HART Team Leader role a year later. Matt left the ambulance service to undertake Secondary Teacher training and was employed as a Chemistry and Science teacher before joining Swansea University as a Lecturer in early 2023. Matt is currently undertaking a PhD in Medical and Health Care Studies. In his free time Matt enjoys walking in the Welsh mountains with his dog.
