Jon Dearnley-Lane

Paramedic and Seconded Lecturer at Edge Hill University

Jon has been a registered Paramedic since 2013. He joined the North West Ambulance Service in 2003 working originally within patient transport. He advanced onto becoming a Student Paramedic, undertaking his DipHE in Paramedic practice in 2012. Once registered as a Paramedic, Jon began his BSc in Clinical and Professional Practice in 2013, obtaining a first-class degree in 2016. In addition to his ambulance-based work, Jon has held roles as Capacity Coordinator at a local Emergency Department, a Triage Paramedic and IV clinician for an out-of-hours GP service and a vocational writer for Pearson UK. Currently, Jon is a seconded lecturer at Edge Hill University, where he teaches students undertaking their DipHE and undergraduate BSc programmes. Whilst doing this, Jon is undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education.
