Associate Head of Allied Health Professions Education
Andy is the Associate Head of Allied Health Professions Education at Edge Hill University, which includes both paramedic and operating department practitioner education programmes. Andy graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2002 with a BMedSci (Hons) in Paramedic Studies, joining Greater Manchester Ambulance Service in 2003, which subsequently became the North West Ambulance Service in 2006. After working initially as an ambulance technician and then paramedic, Andy joined Edge Hill University as a Senior Lecturer in 2010. He subsequently progressed to Programme Lead for the DipHE Paramedic Practice programme and then to his current role as Associate Head in 2017. Andy has a breadth of experience both as an operational paramedic and as an academic in pre-hospital practice, and in his current role is involved in curriculum planning and design of new programmes.
