OVERVIEW
Clinical procedures are vital to delivering safe and effective patient care within the prehospital setting, but it is not always easy remembering each step accurately during a time-critical situation.
“This textbook can be used by a wider audience than just Ambulance staff… it is a very useful resource for anyone engaged in patient assessment and use of the attendant clinical skills in the pre-hospital environment. I feel this textbook will appeal to members of all arms of Search and Rescue Organisations, Police Firearms Medics, Fire Service Medics, etc. as well. I found this an easy book to navigate and one that I look forward to seeing on the shelves.”
David Whitmore QAM – Paramedic, Search and Rescue
Packed with over 75 clinical procedures, this book is the go-to guide to familiarise yourself with the correct sequence and techniques for a range of different skills. Including both fundamental and more advanced paramedic procedures, it makes each procedure easy to understand, with detailed step-by-step guidance and full-colour illustrations.
Not only does the book explore prehospital skills in detail, it also provides the rationale and evidence behind them, so you can fully understand the underlying principles and feel more confident in your practice as a paramedic or ambulance clinician.

ENDORSEMENTS
An excellent text, well received by both staff and students. The layout is easy, user friendly. It is helpful to have the pictures, writing and rationale. This aids student learning and understanding. We are looking to make this a core text on our programme as will be able to use it across multiple modules.
Debbie Wade, Anglia Ruskin University
An excellent resource – this book is very practical and offers rationale behind the skills being covered so provides the reader with a clear evidence base. It offers a step by step guide to the skills being covered with some excellent images. It is clear and concise.
