Claire Hunter, Bachelor of Nursing (Hons), RGN, PGCE, works for NHS Digital as the national Head of Learning, Development and Quality for NHS Pathways, a post she has held since 2004. Claire, a nurse by background, has extensive experience within the field of telephone triage. She previously worked for NHS Direct both in a clinical capacity and as the North West Head of Education. Claire also has experience within community nursing and public health. She is a strong advocate for the call handling role within telephone triage, believing that with high-quality education and training, call handlers can carry out this complex role safely and effectively. A staunch believer in the importance of promoting healthy and happy workplaces, Claire is also a mindfulness instructor, life coach and Mental Health First Aid instructor.
